Orange Sky has a very simple formula; they provide a platform for every day Australians to connect through a regular laundry and shower service. The focus is on creating a safe, positive environment for people who are too often ignores or who feel disconnected from the community. Their volunteers are not social workers or experts on homelessness - they are empathic listeners and great conversationalists.

The Red Rose Foundation works to end domestic violence across our communities. They are especially concerned at the high number of domestic violence deaths that occur each year through homicide and suicide. They also acknowledge that tragically, many domestic violence related deaths have many predictive elements and are largely considered preventable. For the past nine years, The Red Rose Foundation has held a red rose rally following the homicide of every Queensland woman.

The Red Rose Foundation are now establishing a Red Bench Project as a permanent reminder of domestic violence within our communities. The presence of the Red Bench in a public location will raise public awareness and provide an opportunity for this important issue to remain visible. It is their aim to have at least one Red Bench in every local government area in Queensland, with each bench carrying a dedication plaque. The first of the red benches will be unveiled during Domestic Violence Prevention Month 2019 with others to follow.

Australia’s CEO Challenge is a charity that promotes domestic violence prevention, awareness and partnerships in the workplace and the business sector. ACEOC was formally established in 2002, and since that time they have developed a range of domestic violence initiatives. These include creating tailored awareness and education programs for workplaces, partnering businesses with domestic violence services and policy development and education for relevant managerial staff to drive a workplace culture that says no to domestic violence.
