Event description

The 2020 Sustainability Symposium aims to inspire change and ignite souls.  Utilising the Sustainable Development Goals, school communities will be invited to attend different events within a week-long sustainability learning experience addressing a whole-school approach to behaviour change.  Focused on the SDGs 11, 16 and 17, the 2020 Sustainability Symposium is a partnership between the Sustainable Schools Network Limited, City of Gold Coast Water and Waste Directorate, All Saints Anglican School and Griffith University.

DAY 1: 26 April 2020 - Kingscliff Community Centre (Supported by Tweed Council)

Tweed Environmental Leadership Alumni Sharing Circle & Youth Masterclass with Jaimie Cloud (both invite only)

DAY 2: 27 April 2020 - Carrara Indoor Sports Centre (Sponsored by City of Gold Coast Water and Waste Directorate and Cr. Daphne McDonald)

Water Security Workshop Facilitated by Relative Creative for Gold Coast high school students

DAY 3: 28 April 2020 - All Saints Anglican School

Student sessions: Prudence Melom from E-raced (Keynote Speaker), Damon Gameau (2040), Luka Lesson, Jessica Pinder, and the Australian 2020 United Nations Youth Representative

Parent sessions (sponsored by the All Saints Anglican School Parents' and Friends' Association): Erfan Daliri (Keynote Speaker), Larissa Rose (Glowing Green Australia)

Operational staff sessions: City of Gold Coast Water and Waste 

3 Course Dinner with Drinks: Panel discussion regarding EfS featuring Jaimie Cloud

Introduction to Education for Sustainability (EfS) facilitated by Jaimie Cloud
