2040 Screening at Deakin University (By Melbourne Soup)
Event description
As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, SPARK Deakin and Melbourne SOUP are collaborating to host a screening of the documentary ‘2040’.
2040 emphasises the urgent need for climate action without adopting the doom and gloom tactics commonly used by the media. Instead, it showcases that there is room for a different story on climate change, one that focuses on the solutions available to us today built by innovators and entrepreneurs.
The film illustrates what the world would like in 2040 if we just embraced the best practices, innovations and technologies that’s available today.
The film features hopeful stories of entrepreneurs, thinkers, technologists, and scientists from all around the world who are collaborating to make a better and more sustainable world a reality.
All profits on the night will go towards Melbourne SOUP - a community of people interested in doing good. Melbourne SOUP provides an avenue for budding social entrepreneurs to come together (over a bowl of soup) and discuss their ideas for positive change. We host regular events that provide a platform for these ideas to be heard and an opportunity for the wheels to be set in motion. Whether you want to pitch an idea, or you just want to be a part of the conversation, we welcome everybody with open arms to our presentation nights.

Event Details:
We'll have a short presentation beforehand from both SPARK and Melbourne SOUP. The film will commence at 7.15pm.
The event will be hosted at Deakin University's Burwood campus, at Lecture Theatre 7 (Building Y, Level 2, Room 4).
Tickets are $12.50.
