About the Choirs:

Timbre Flaws

Musical Director: Stuart Davis
Timbre Flaws, based in Kensington, began many years ago after a TV segment about one of Stuart Davis’s choirs was aired, and Stuart was inundated with new members.  Since then the choir has become a very big happy family that sings and socialises together, and even holidays together - they’ve done singing trips to Cuba, Morocco, Ireland and Vanuatu.  Timbre Flaws sings a mix of pop, gospel and many other styles.

Urban Voices

Musical Director: Alex Pringle
Members of Urban Voices understand the joyous, uplifting feeling you get from singing in harmony with others: they’ve been doing it for eight years, every Monday evening in Epping. They regularly perform in competitions, fundraise for several charities and love performing within their local community.

Urban Voices won second place at the prestigious Sydney Eisteddfod John Lamble Open Choral Championship in 2017. The Championship draws prize-winners from various categories and saw Urban Voices competing against several choirs from across the greater Sydney region with varying levels of experience, many of which were well-established auditioned groups.

Musical Director Alex Pringle said, “We enjoy performing and our confidence keeps growing. To come second at the Sydney eisteddfod was a huge achievement for a local community choir that opens it’s doors to any locals who just love to sing. This group has the best internal bond and community-focus of any I’ve been involved with.”
