Event description

In Australia on average, one man a week murders his current or former partner*. Intimate partner violence is the leading cause of illness, disability and premature death for women*. Men's use of family violence is an overwhelming social issue. However, it is preventable and we can all play a part in addressing its drivers.

Let’s start having everyday conversations to challenge the gendered drivers of men’s family violence.

Our 3-hour workshop focusses on everyday conversations where the gendered drivers of men’s family violence are subtly or complicity reinforced.

Drawing on No to Violence’s knowledge of men's family violence and frameworks for intervention, we aim to increase understanding, skills and confidence to have conversations that contribute to change.

Identifying subtle and complicit reinforcement of sexist beliefs in everyday conversations
Practical skills for inviting reflection and change
Hands-on, interactive activities that put theory into action

Tea, coffee and biscuits provided.

Doors open at 9:15 am, with workshop commencing at 9:30 am.

Please note minimum numbers are required.
