Event description

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

General Family Workshops are presented in a group that aims to develop the participants’ understanding relating to the autism spectrum. Presented by experienced professionals from across different teams within the organisation, and with individuals on the autism spectrum,  participants will develop a greater understanding of many topics through interactive, engaging and practical workshops. For free sessions, participants must either be autistic or be a partner or a family member of someone on the spectrum.

In Focus Family Workshops are unique workshops presented to small groups of participants by relevant therapists, which allows for specific questions and scenarios to be discussed. Sessions focus on a specific topic and aim to develop the participants’ knowledge and understanding of that topic, and provide participants with tailored strategies that can be used, and relevant to the participants’ setting.

This workshop is a great starting point for individuals that have recently been diagnosed, and their extended family members. Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding of the characteristics of autism, including possible strengths and challenges, and knowledge of a range of strategies and interventions that are available. The presenter will also go over some of the service and funding options available that may be accessible. This workshop also offers an opportunity to meet others on the spectrum and parents/carers of individuals on the spectrum.
