Event description

The Australian Sustainable Communities Tidy Towns Awards event will be rescheduled to 13 & 14 October 2020.

In consideration of recent restrictions introduced to address the COVID-19 threat to remote communities, Keep Australia Beautiful has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Australian Sustainable Communities Tidy Towns Awards to October.

The health and safety of these communities as well as the event attendees is our first priority and we strongly feel this is the right decision given the current circumstances.

The program and arrangements made so far will transfer to the new dates. For attendees, we will automatically transfer your booking to the rescheduled event. If these new dates pose a problem for you, Keep Australia Beautiful will provide a full refund of your booking, providing you contact us prior to 31 March 2020.

If you have already made travel arrangements, we recommend you contact your hotel and airline to discuss rescheduling. Many hotels (including booking sites) and airlines have announced flexible, fee-free arrangements for cancelling or rescheduling.

If you have questions, please contact events@knswb.org.au. We will endeavour to respond to all enquiries as quickly as possible

Thank you for your continued support as we all navigate this unprecedented situation.

Keep Australia Beautiful has been running the Australian Tidy Towns Awards for almost fifty years as a means of encouraging, motivating and celebrating the sustainability achievements of rural and regional communities across Australia. In addition to recognising these achievements, the awards dinner offers representatives from across the country an opportunity to network and exchange ideas with others from community, industry and government sectors.

Each year the awards dinner and associated activities are hosted by the winner from the previous year. The remote Aboriginal community of Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte), was named the 2019 Australian Tidy Town winner and as such, will be our hosts for this two-day event.
