The ASZK Animal Training Community will be holding a 2 day "Introduction to Animal Training" workshop at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast.

The two-day workshop covers the introductory concepts of animal training with a focus on positive reinforcement strategies. It is designed to give participants an insight into the theory and practical elements of animal training used in zoos. The workshop will include animal training demonstrations at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

 Day 1 of the workshop “An Introduction to Animal Training” covers topics such as Operant Conditioning, Shaping Techniques, Stimulus Control, Foundation Behaviours, Training Plans & Record Keeping.

Day 2 of the workshop “In Depth Concepts” looks at Animal Welfare in training, The Operant Conditioning Quadrant, Schedules of reinforcement and Problem solving.

Workshop cost includes 2 days of facilitated learning by leading industry trainers. All morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is included as well as entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary during the breaks.
