Hosted by the Australian Industrial Ecology Network, the fifth annual Australian Waste to Energy Forum will take place from 18 – 20 February 2020 in Ballarat, Victoria. The organising committee and AIEN Directors invite you to participate in the discussions, networking opportunities and social functions that have resulted in a forum that has grown year after year.
This is a time of great opportunity for the waste to energy industry in Australia. With increasing landfill levies and a growing awareness of the role that Waste to Energy can play to address the key issues of waste diversion and energy supply in Australia, there are already several projects well along the path to becoming a reality.
The theme for this year’s conference “On the road to recovery” has been selected to address two key areas: The application of waste hierarchy fundamentals; and Changing perceptions about waste to energy facilities and their role within an integrated waste management strategy.
Once again, the Forum will be held over two and a half days allowing us the time required to explore each of the topics as completely as necessary. It has always been our belief that you don’t know what you don’t know and that the reason for attending an event such as the Waste to Energy Forum is to become more educated on the subject. Forum topics will touch upon all aspects required to successfully implement a Waste to Energy project and include planning, financing, feedstock, technology, outputs and case studies.
