B Local Sydney: Purposeful Entrepreneurship and how it is powering growth and innovation

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Now more than ever we need to work together as a force for good. Purpose is both a value and an asset for companies that are passionate, authentic and committed to 'doing business better'.

See Atlassian and Future Super - who led the #NotBusinessAsUsual Campaign (Future Super will be on our panel) - Patagonia and newly-certified Kathmandu and the wave of mission-led startups entering every sector.

B Corporations are at the front of this trend. Wearing their values on their sleeve, they are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability - working to prove that combining profit and purpose is both possible and necessary.

The panel will bring together leaders from successful B Corp businesses in Sydney, from superannuation, B2B services, design & innovation, digital, crowdfunding, and food - learn how these businesses are using the power of purpose to fuel their impact and their business success.

We will explore how B Corps are embedding purpose at the heart of their businesses, the tensions that can come up when combining profit and purpose and the opportunities and meaning of the trend towards social enterprise for entrepreneurs, investors and for all of us as consumers and citizens. Because when it all comes down it to, we're all in this together. We are interdependent.

Agenda:

  • 5:30-6:15. Drinks, nibbles & networking
  • 6:15-7:00. Panel
  • 7:00. Continue the conversation at the pub. Untied, Rooftop, Level 4, Exchange Place, , 400 Barangaroo Avenue

  • Ainhoa Martinez from Sample Coffee
  • Tom Dawkins from StartSomeGood
