The Centre for the Advancement of Indigenous Knowledges (CAIK) in partnership with the UTS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences is hosting a Great Debate with high profile Indigenous speakers on the evening of Tuesday 30 July. 

This will be a lighthearted, entertaining and lively battle of ideas and perspectives on the debate topic: ‘Love is All We Need’.

Our Chair for the evening, Terri "Justice" Janke, will oversee the proceedings with the two debate teams being led by UTS's own Heidi Norman (Professor, Social and Political Sciences) and Sandra Phillips (Associate Professor, Indigenous Higher Degree by Research). 

Debate teams will include the brilliant talents of ABC Black Comedy legend Stephen Oliver, powerhouse thought leader Chelsea Bond, Sydney Festival Director Wesley Enoch, 2018 Deadly Funny champion Leon Filewood, artist educator Shannon Foster and poet/Harvard Fulbright scholar Alison Whittaker.

Drinks and canapés will be served from 5:30pm, with the debate commencing at 6:15pm and concluding at 7:30pm.

Tickets are $10 and proceeds will go to the Literacy for Life Foundation - an Aboriginal-run charity training local people to deliver adult literacy classes in their community.
