What now for the disability and aged care sectors?

Outcomes and expectations from Royal Commissions

Alleged injustice and public outcry when critical systems break down can lead to calls for a Royal Commission. In recent and current inquiries, Australia’s banking and aged care sectors are rightly being questioned for their provision of services. Now the disability sector is under scrutiny too.

What can the disability and aged care sectors expect in the wake of these Royal Commissions?

Hear from our speakers as they advise:

  • What happens in a Royal Commission
  • What organisations can do to prepare for Royal Commission outcomes
  • What one Adelaide aged care provider is doing to continue service in the context of the Aged Care Royal Commission

We invite you to attend this ExecNet event and hear from our special guest speakers:

Henry Newton, Senior Policy Officer, NDS

Henry has been with NDS for a number of years, having recently taken on a role focusing on the Disability Royal Commission. Prior to this he worked in the Victorian disability policy space, with a particular focus on workforce issues. This was proceeded by various policy and project work in the disability and broader community services sector – both in government and not for profit organisations. In his current role, Henry will be covering hearings, providing news updates and supporting the development of resources to support NDS members through the Disability Royal Commission.

Dr David Panter, Chief Executive, ECH

David originally trained as a psychologist and has been a Chief Executive in health and social care services for almost 30 years. Currently the CE of profit-for-purpose ECH Inc, SA’s biggest provider of housing and support services for older people, David is passionate about enabling people to live well until death in their own home.
