A presentation on the new guidelines for Interfaith education in schools of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne

Associate Professor Rev. Dr John Dupuche is a member of the Ecumenical and Interfaith Commission, is a Pastor Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, and an Associate Professor at Catholic Theological College (University of Divinity). He is also an Honorary Fellow at Australian Catholic University in the Inter-religious Dialogue Network of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy. He is Chair of the Catholic Interfaith Committee, served as a member and former Chair of the Faith and Order Commission of the Victorian Council of Churches, and has been heavily engaged in interreligious relations in the Archdiocese, and interfaith work through the JCMA.

In late 2018, the Catholic Archdiocese and Catholic Education Melbourne released “Welcoming Each Other: Guidelines for Interfaith Education in Schools of the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne”. This presentation will explore the general necessity of approaching education from a multi-faith as well as multicultural point of view.
