Celebrating Little Swanport Reserve

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Through the immense generosity of hundreds of local, state and interstate supporters, The Tasmanian Land Conservancy (TLC) recently protected 150 hectares of critical habitat at Little Swanport.

Little Swanport Reserve now safeguards three threatened forest communities, including old-growth blue gum forests. These forests are so rarely seen today at this size on Tasmania’s east coast and are essential for providing the critically endangered swift parrot with food, shelter and breeding hollows.

The reserve also offers a haven to many other important species including the Tasmanian devil, Tasmanian bettong, eastern quoll, eastern barred bandicoot and the elusive spotted quail-thrush.

PLEASE JOIN US IN CELEBRATING LITTLE SWANPORT RESERVE

We want to celebrate this success with our supporters and the local Glamorgan Spring Bay community, and to thank donors personally for making the establishment of yet another vital conservation reserve in Tasmania possible.
