Event description

What would it take to create safe, supportive spaces for people thinking of, and planning, suicide? Join us to explore this question and contribute ideas about an alternative to emergency departments and hospital admission for people thinking about suicide and their loved ones experiencing this scenario.

At this community forum, one of two on the Sunshine Coast, we will establish whether there is a need for a new Sunshine Coast service (a home like environment) to support and care for people experiencing a suicide-related crisis and their families or significant others. We will also discuss what such a service would look and feel like.

We would really encourage people with lived experience to attend and participate as well as families, community members, relevant service providers or agencies and peer workers.

This forum is not recommended for people who are recently bereaved or young people under 18 years of age.  If this applies to you and you are interested, please email Merilyn Keene merilyn@calcomm.org.au and we will consider separate, supported gatherings for the purpose of input.
