Plants Infused #2 2020
Date and Time
In partnership with the Sustainable Living Festival 2020, we are excited to introduce this much loved workshop 'Plants Infused' for it's second year.
In this rewilding workshop participants learn how to make their own herbal body balm using local native plants and 'weeds' from start to finish. Through playful and sensory interaction with the plants participants are empowered with skill and knowledge as they reconnect to the land and themselves.
All materials will be provided as well as nourishing herbal infusions for participants to sip on throughout the workshop.
About the facilitators:
Ilana is an educator, a children's book author and illustrator that draws on her experience as a wildlife and domestic veterinarian to inspire people to fall in love with the natural world around them. Ilana’s passion for animal welfare and conservation has taken her across the world. She has been involved in animal welfare and conservation projects in over a dozen countries, and in Australia has volunteered and worked with organisations such as Pets in The Park, AMRRIC, Sea bird rescue, and Parks and Wildlife. Ilana builds her practice on the principle that education is central to empowering positive change, and has presented workshops and talks in educational institutions and festivals across Australia to further this practice.
Lily of the Herbs: Lily is a herbalist and permaculturist from Victoria. She has a background in native plant propagation and has been growing her own food since she was young. She built and lives in a tiny house, travels around collecting herbs, making them into tinctures and running workshops. She has worked in Tasmania at Goulds Apothecary's herb farm, and is currently studying Zenthai Shiatsu and offering treatments.
