Event description

The Social Justice In Early Childhood group is holding its 16th annual 'Throwing the Baby Out with the Bathwater' conference.

See the conference program: https://www.sjiec.org/file_dow...

When will the conference happen? Saturday 25th July - LIVE on Facebook 8.45am for 9am start - 4.30pm

Where will the 2020 conference be held?

Streamed live from beautiful Gadigal Country to you where ever you are in Australia or internationally! The conference will be streamed live into a special private SJIEC Conference Event. We will send you the link a few days before the conference.

How much will it cost?

Just $20.00 (AUD) - plus a small booking fee - to contribute to the 2021 conference and our annual annual events! Remember we are a NFP organisation run by volunteers so everything you contribute goes towards creating more community opportunities for SJIEC members and the early childhood community.

How will I participate?

Register with a few friends and have the time of your life because the program is out of this world! Be ready to share selfies of your participation to help create and connect our beautiful social justice community online!

Can I watch the presentations after the conference?

UPDATE: We had previously advised that some of the conference
recordings would be available to catch up on after the conference. This
is no longer the case. If you want to enjoy the content you will need to
join live.

What if I don’t have Facebook?

If you don’t have Facebook you have two options:

  • Find a friend who has Facebook and watch live with them (keeping safe social distance of course)
  • Set up a Facebook account for the event and then deactivate it

Give aways and shop items: We have Learn To Include books from Vicki Harding to give away and we will have our famous tees n totes on sale during the conference as well...

If you want to have your tees n totes before the conference to wear on the day you can get them from the SJIEC shop.

We have a group of beautiful SJIEC volunteers who will be running the conference from our SJIEC Heart Quarters so we will have lots of people to be interacting with you online on the day... See you all there...

NSW Teachers: Info for NSW teachers maintaining their Proficient Teacher accreditation: Thanks to our partnership with Multiverse, attending this event and completing the follow up reflection activities will contribute 6 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. You must register your attendance through Humanitix and provide your NESA number.
