Event description

Event Schedule:

6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Professor Hicks lecture, audience Q&A, book signing.

Intimate venue - very limited capacity

Join world-renowned philosopher Dr. Stephen Hicks for an evening as he navigates the mysterious cultural landscape of current-day political correctness and postmodernism: how it's affecting our present and halting our drive for progress.

In his first Australian visit, Dr. Hicks looks back on past philosophies that have shaped the ideologies we see taking charge today: political correctness, the rise of oppressed groups, the dilution of truth and meaning. In understanding postmodernism's origins and core theory, what becomes evident is just how much it is shaping our world and the consequences that lie ahead if left unchecked. Hicks will address our options and strategies moving forward.

What is postmodernism? What makes it attractive? Why is it dangerous for modern civilization? What is its role in battles over free speech, political correctness, intellectual diversity and the rise of Antifa and the Alt-right? What are our options, moving forward?
