Desire Lines 6.0

Desire Lines is an art exhibition series in the format of a walking tour. With a guide, audience members move through several locations, each playing host to a performance, installation or sonic experience.The walk engages audiences with art outside of a museum context A desire line occurs when humans ignore existing suggestions of how to move through space, straying off established pathways of travel to leave their own trace through an environment. To travel along a desire line is to engender an alternate direction of behaviour or thought. desire lines traverse both physical and cognitive space, and so to step differently is also to think in new ways. A desire line is the hole in the fence, the absent-minded turn, the shortcut home.
