DisForma: Mixagi at The Nest showcase Üm Bird

DisForma comes from this realisation... "to take any yet no form"... a series of events showcasing independent artists that are not defined by a particular genre or art form... without losing the multicultural essence of what Mixagi has been... transforming while still being.

We have joined The Nest Creative Space, a cultural incubator made by artists for artists. A beautiful and mind expanding place to break the shell and expand our wings.

For the first showcase we present Tiago De Lucca's new project called Üm Bird. A live set de-emphasising melody and chord progressions with strong rhythmic grooves. Üm Bird's first EP is expected to drop later in 2019.

We love how it draws in funky music gliding through deep beats constructed in real time. Üm Bird is a unique electro-acoustic live set combining soulful vocals, tenacious guitar riffs and broken off tempo pocket kicks.

On the decks, Mixagi residents will be doing the rounds layering transcontinental music, holding strong on the ethos of "musica do mundo".

The Nest is more like a bespoke artist retreat than a generic creative space. It will be surrounded by visual art showcasing local talent that you can interact with.

DisForma is a platform that we want to build with you.. moving away from the confined structures of Sydney nightlife; we sprout without limitation.
