Amal Awad
Amal Awad is a journalist, screenwriter and author, and occasional performer. She has contributed to such publications as ELLE, Frankie, Meanjin, Going Down Swinging and Daily Life. Amal has also produced and presented for ABC Radio National, and has held senior editorial roles at various trade publications.
Amal has appeared as a speaker at schools, universities and writers’ festivals around Australia, and she also facilitates workshops, covering topics such as diversity, women’s issues and pop culture. She has appeared on ABC TV’s The Drum and she was a TEDx Macquarie speaker in 2019, speaking about ‘Moving beyond the token minority’ in film and television.

Dr Manisha Amin
Dr Manisha Amin is the CEO of the Centre for Inclusive Design (CfID), a social enterprise leading the conversation in the power of thinking from the edge. Manisha has over 20 yrs experience in strategic marketing, communication, transforming cultures and creativity. As the real and the digital worlds collide CfID help people to build and design products, services and policies that are as inclusive and useful for as many people.
Manisha previously worked in the technology sector and with various government departments in environmental advocacy. She is passionate about social justice and business growth, and believes that when we combine the two we get gold. She has a PhD in Arts and Social Science, a Masters in Professional Writing, and a Bachelor of Business (Marketing), from the University of Technology, Sydney. Manisha is also on the Board of ADHD Australia and is a published novelist.

Gretta Serov
Gretta Serov is from Western Sydney. An active person with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Gretta has two jobs in the disability sector and has started her my own motivational speaking business. Gretta is an avid horse rider, scuba diver, indoor skydiver and has her own blog which is called On Our Own Tracks. Gretta also has a tiny bit of Cerebral Palsy which affects her mobility and communication. The reason she refers to her Cerebral Palsy in this way is because she has an amazing life and doesn’t see her disability as a hassle.
Gretta was brought up in a mainstream environment and had amazing people around her who didn’t see her disability as a barrier at all. Gretta is speaking about the importance of employment opportunities. Gretta believes that our society has a huge opportunity to become increasingly inclusive as we are entering this fabulous futuristic world. At Bambuddha we could not agree more.

Aaron Darc
For over a decade, Aaron Darc has created brands, marketing and communications for a variety of audiences across the world. However, in his work for the booming market of international higher education, he found a complex and often misunderstood, cultural and ethnic intersectionality that spoke to many of the concerns of current discussions around Diversity & Inclusion, but in a realm where the traditional lines between the business and the customer can become difficult to define.
Aaron joins us to discuss the concept of otherness and will be sharing his own story and some key lessons along the way.

Matthew Wright-SimonConference emcee, strategic engagement specialist
Ecocreative and other ventures
Matthew Wright-Simon is the founder of Ecocreative, a pioneering business in the sustainability, wellbeing and social impact sectors dedicated to ‘engagement for changemakers’.
Matthew is a serious values-driven creative practitioner with a ready sense of humour. This is evident in the energy and sense of enthusiasm in his work as an emcee and presenter, curator, mentor and advocate for the positive impact enabled through human connection, including his work with Newday Leadership and volunteering for TEDxAdelaide.
Matthew’s work across the engagement spectrum (strategy, facilitation and communications) is built around strong values and design principles. He is an IAP2-certified engagement facilitator and he has designed, facilitated or emceed numerous major ideas, innovation and leadership conferences and dozens of strategic, codesign and consultation workshops and forums.
Matthew is parent to two teens, co-founder of a therapeutic textiles startup with a focus on women's homelessness and a founding trustee of the Awesome Foundation in his hometown of Adelaide.
