About the trainer

Kyle Scott

Kyle Scott
Associate Director
Australian Business Lawyers & Advisors (ABLA)

Kyle is a specialist employment and industrial relations lawyer, having practised exclusively in this area since 2008.

He provides expert advice to employers throughout the entire employment life-cycle, from recruitment right through to termination and beyond. He can assist clients in implementing contracts and policies, ensuring compliance with the Fair Work Act and modern awards, developing tailored enterprise agreements, assisting with complex disciplinary issues and workplace investigations, right through to managing complex terminations and enforcing confidentiality and post-employment obligations.

He partners with HR managers to manage complex workplace issues, providing pragmatic and commercially minded advice to assist businesses mitigate their legal risks when making decisions.

His practice is a mix of advisory work and litigation. Where matters turn litigious, Kyle represents clients in a range of courts and tribunals and manages the conduct of those matters from commencement to final hearing. He has considerable experience representing clients before the Fair Work Commission, the NSW Industrial Relations Commission and the Federal Circuit Court in particular.

Through his involvement in the Fair Work Commission’s review of modern awards, he has become a familiar face in the Commission, having spent more than 100 days in the Commission over the last 2 years and is therefore well placed to represent and advise clients when matters proceed to the Commission.

In addition to his advisory and litigation work, Kyle regularly presents training sessions to private and public sector clients (both to HR managers and the broader workforce) on a range of topics such as bullying, discrimination and harassment, performance management, merit appointment and others.

He also conducts workplace investigations for both private and public sector clients where the matter is particularly serious or complex and warrants an external investigation.

In 2015, Kyle was a Finalist in the workplace relations category of the Lawyers Weekly ‘30 Under 30’ Awards, recognising him as one of the leading young employment lawyers in Australia.

What's the refund policy?

Participants will receive a full refund if they cancel at least seven (7) business days prior to the scheduled event. However, if participants cancel less than seven (7) business days before the event, no refund will be made. The place can be transfered to another member of the paid organisation. No-shows or cancellations after 7 days will receive the course training material and supporting documents. If there are insufficient participants, we reserve the right to cancel the event and participants will be transferred to another module of equal value or receive a full refund at their election. We will give three business days’ notice of any such cancellation.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, you will also be required to provide your proof of Identification.
