Join us for an evening of espresso martinis and thoughtful dialogue around the social impact space.

Panel topic: Ethical Fashion: Do people really care?

Vollie and Pro Bono Australia introduce "Espresso Martinis + Impact" 🍸 A new event series that brings together Melbourne's two favourite things...Espresso Martinis and that burning desire to make the world a better place. Our first event kicks off at the iconic One Roof Women and the topic will be "Ethical Fashion: Do we really care?" We have an incredible panel lined-up for this event featuring leaders from the ethical fashion space. Ticket price includes an espresso martini on arrival, grazing table, and drinks throughout the night.

Moderator: Angela Bell, National Manager at Ethical Clothing Australia(

Angela spent the early years of her career working in media and communications before moving into corporate and environmental sustainability. Her various roles have included working as a media advisor for a Minister of the Crown; she has worked for the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 -which was set up to oversee the sustainability elements of the London Olympic Games, she has worked at the Foundation for Young Australians undertaking a sustainability review of one of their programs, and for many years before joining ECA she worked for a national law firm overseeing their corporate communications and social responsibility work including having oversight of major communication events including landmark legal wins, crisis communications, and overseeing the introduction of an environmental strategy for the business. While working at the firm she completed a Graduate Certificate in Social Impact at Melbourne Business School.

Nick Savaidis is the founder of Etiko Pty Ltd, the company behind not one but two fair trade brands ....Etiko Fair Trade and Jinta Sport. Through these two brands his company pioneered the idea of ethically produced, eco friendly clothing, footwear and sports gear in Australia. In the latest Australian Ethical Fashion Report, which looks at supply chains of 400+ fashion brands sold in Australia Etiko scored the highest ranking, an A+, …for the 6TH time in a row, the only fashion brand to ever do so.

Panelist 2: Jordan Deichen, Premium Lead at Glam Corner (https://www.glamcorner.com.au/)

Jordan is the Premium Lead at GlamCorner guiding the development and merchandising of GC's unlimited year round wardrobe offering. GC Premium is a rental based clothing subscription that supports Circular Fashion by reducing the environmental impact of unused clothing and over production in the fashion industry. Jordan comes from a Fashion Tech and Merchandising background starting her career at Stitch Fix, an online personal styling company in San Francisco, CA. Jordan is passionate about innovating change in the fashion industry to help people express their style and find what they love without sacrificing their values. 


Panelist 3: Nick Pearce, Co-Founder & CEO HoMie (https://homie.com.au/)

Nick Pearce is the CEO & Co-Founder of HoMie, a streetwear clothing social enterprise that provides brand-new clothing, training and job opportunities to young people affected by homelessness or hardship. Nick was awarded the 2017 Young Victorian Achiever Award for Leadership and 2018 National Retail Association's Young Retailer of the Year.



Panelist 4: Gershon Nimbalker, Social Change and Supply Chain Sustainability Consultant,Stop The Traffik (http://stopthetraffik.com.au/)

Gershon Nimbalker is STOP THE TRAFFIK Australian Coalition's Business Engagement Director. He began his working life in the finance sector and then he moved to International Aid and Development and Human Rights Advocacy. Previous to working with STOP THE TRAFFIK, he was the manager of Australian Baptist World Aid’s Advocacy work. Here he developed The Ethical Fashion Guide and The Ethical Electronics Guide, both of which are referred to globally as provided the primary benchmarking for the industries. Gershon is highly regarded in both business and NGO circles. 

Panelist 5: Claire Goldsworthy, Editor at The Fashion Advocate (https://thefashionadvocate.com/)

Claire Goldsworthy is The Fashion Advocate; an ethical fashion advocate, an eco-activist and supporter of sustainable style. Claire founded The Fashion Advocate in 2014, and what started as a blog and daily fashion dairy, has grown to encompass an annual print magazine, an influencer profile, and an online store which stocks more than 40 ethical and sustainable Australian and New Zealand fashion labels. All online orders are shipped in 100% plastic-free and home-compostable packaging, and $2 is donated from every sale in collaboration with i=Change to pay it forward and support women and children in Australia.
