Farhud Commemoration

Join us to commemorate the Farhud with a screening of the film "Venice of the East" by Bahaa Al Kadumy. The film  tells the (imagined) story of an elderly Jew who returns to Iraq, wishing to end his days in the home where he was born and the relationship which develops between him and a young boy, assigned by his family to  provide support to the Jew.

Acclaimed British poet Yvonne Green will be joining us on the night. Her poems have been published in many magazines and journals.

She was poet in residence to JWA Women’s Refuge, to Norwood Ravenswood and at Spiro’s Ark.

Yvonne will be speaking on the night and has written on the Farhud.
