BATHURST SHOWCASE!

Come and join us on the fairy lit garden terrace SATURDAY JUNE 29 to be spellbound by three amazing live acts who are all leaving the beautiful surrounds of BATHURST NSW to be with us:

SMITH & JONES

Bathurst’s iconic and beloved country duo Smith & Jones are made up of keyboard player and vocalist Abby Smith, with guitarist and vocalist Sophie Jones.

Though classified as alt-country, their goal has never been to remain within the confines of any genre, preferring to let their sound and their songs take them where they will. Nowhere does this desire for individuality shine brighter then on their newly released second album ‘Something Worth Learning’.
Recorded at both Love Hz Studios and Linear Recording in Leichhardt, Sydney and produced by Michael Carpenter, ‘Something Worth Learning’ is still full of the charm and joy audiences have come to expect from Smith & Jones. This new work delicately balances themes of love and loss, friendship and isolation, emotional desire and freedom, fearlessly exploring the depths of their musical partnership with the listener by their side.

Smith & Jones’ first album, ‘Dark Gives Way’, released in 2017, was extremely well received with its first three singles; ‘Baby Blue’, ‘Small Town Woman’ and ‘Your Achin’ Heart’, all went to number one on the internet’s Australian Country Radio charts and received airplay around the country.

ANDY NELSON

Andy Nelson is a singer songwriter hailing from Bathurst in Central Western NSW.

With music having been an essential part of his life, yet only at home, in 2015 at the age of 32 Andy begun sharing his music with audiences. In 2017 he made to move to leave full time work and recorded his debut E.P with multi award winning producer Matt Fell at Love Hz Studios in Sydney.

Andy sings from the heart with a soulful honest voice influenced by the likes of Ray Lamontagne & Sam Beam. With his poetic stories of love, loss and family striking a chord with all who listen.

Andy continues on his journey having supported the likes of The Small Glories & Claire Anne Taylor. He was a semi-finalist in the Bluesfest busking competition and has played festivals such as The End at Hill End, The Inland Sea of Sound in Bathurst, Tamworth Country Music Festival and The National Folk Festival Canberra.

Andy shares with us songs from his brand new album MAN ON THE MOUNTAIN.

THE SAFETY OF LIFE AT SEA
The Safety of Life at Sea return to FFS with their distinctly vintage vibe inspired by blues, soul and the classic songwriters of the 60s and 70s. The rhythm section takes a leaf out of the books of Stax and Motown, and the piano went for a weekend in New Orleans and never really came back. Their second album Foxy’s Farm was released in 2017.
