Event description

The Australian Psychedelic Society-Adelaide will be hosting the Adelaide premier screening of the feature length documentary, 'From Shock to Awe'. With one in four people suffering from some form of mental illness this year, our current psychiatric model has proven drastically ineffective in treating this pressing health crisis.

Psychedelic medicines now represent a revolutionary and life-changing new treatment paradigm that may potentially address the shortcomings within our current mental health system. This film follows two war veterans in their psychedelic healing journey to the Amazon to treat their PTSD using Ayahuasca and then MDMA with their partners after their return home.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion including the following speakers:

MITCH SCHULTZ - Producer of 'From Shock to Awe' and Director of 'DMT: The Spirit Molecule'

STEVE MCDONALD - War veteran and cofounder of Psychedelic Research in Science and Medicine (PRISM).

With more speakers TBA.

Australian Psychedelic Society

The Australian Psychedelic Society (APS) is an organisation seeking to connect Australia's psychedelic community to benefit, enjoy and contribute to their culture in a safe and supportive environment. The APS is part of a larger global movement with psychedelic societies already established in several places in the USA, UK and other European nations. By creating a cohesive network, it is hoped that changes in drug policy, education and use will be established based on evidence-based information, rather than fear-based propaganda.
