Session 1: Fundamental concepts, Project success factors, Articulating benefit & impact
This is the first of a three-part Grants Development Workshop series, specifically designed for research support staff in faculties and central units to build capability in high-quality grant development support across UTS. Interested researchers are also welcome to register.
Participants attending this session will gain both strategic and practical insights into the following topics:
- Why researchers apply for funding
- What purposes researchers seek funding for
- Differences between types of grants
- How grants are evaluated and assessed
- Choosing the right grant opportunity & potential issues
- Grant success factors: Rules vs. Reality
- How to articulate benefit & impact
The workshop will be delivered by Dr Thorsten Kostulski and Mr James Walsh from the UTS Research Office.
