Event description
These events are for all Good Humans, independent of what you do for work. We are about what you intend!
The purpose of this event is to get you talking about what matters, to help you get to know the other awesome people in the community, to form and strengthen awesome bonds, and fuel potential collaborations. A mouthful! But oh-so-deliciously-chewy right?
It is proudly brought to you by the Good Business Community that is GoodNorth (formerly Byron to Bundy). And our first official Speed Networking for Good event under the new name!
Our events are a-buzz with just the right kind of vibe. We are a high-frequency community of amazing, conscious people who are working to make the world the better place we want it to be. If you are picking up what we are putting down, then you’ve gotta come!
While the name suggests Networking, there is a twist: We pose a different question. Not “What do you do?” rather “What are you passionate about changing in the world?” Or “What cause lights you up?”
It’s the way we see what is in each other's heart, our common purpose, our intent.
This is how it will go:
We have capped the ticket number to have an awesome crowd and not be cramped. Your ticket gets you entry and all beverages covered. It is at Stone & Wood so that means their amazing Beer, Kombucha and Cider, as well as Wine (that we will be bringing along).
The Agenda
There will be drinks and mingling, then a speed networking session, a meal break, more speed networking, followed by more open networking to continue conversations started.
The speed networking will be guided by your friendly host, with 5 mins per pair, with 2 mins focus per person, then 1 minute for details exchange and change over. Follow the instructions and you'll be fine.
We will provide some opening questions on the night to promote profound connections, so you won't be stuck for words. In fact, it’s better if you don’t come with prepared conversations, rather be yourself!
Food
Food will be available at the brewery Canteen at additional cost and entirely at your discretion.
The Session Canteen is brought to you by Chef Simon Palmer. Simon has previously held positions as Head Chef at the acclaimed e’cco Bistro as well as sous chef at Urbane & Gerard’s Bistro.
The Session Canteen menu has Middle Eastern and South-East Asian influences where Simon aims to compliment Stone and Wood’s diverse beer range and contribute to the overall brewery experience. Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan menu options.
What to bring
Bring your ticket (so we can check you in).
Bring your awesome smiling self, a great attitude, and some business cards (BUT this is not about plowing through the event giving your cards out).
The Venue & Getting there
We're privileged to hold this event at Stone & Wood Brisbane Brewery. Stone & Wood are a champion of Business for Good, a proud B Corp, and supportive of this tribe of ours from early days.
Parking
There are parking garages within walking distance and street parking. Book ahead online to save dollars!
Public Transport
Centrally located in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley you're covered with trains and buses.
Who we are
GoodNorth are a community of businesses in the region broadly spanning the Northern Rivers through Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Beyond, who believe that business can be a force for good. Many of us are B Corps or on the journey to becoming one, and we are welcoming to all who share this belief.
