Summer's sorted with our range of school holiday workshops at The Grounds! 

Join us for a hands-on honey making workshop with the founder of Maya Sunny Honey, Andrew, as he shares his knowledge about Bees, the importance of Bees and their Hives. 

During the 45 minute workshop, Andrew will share his passion and inspiration for bees that started at a very young age in the country-side of Poland, where he learned to help his parents on the apiarist farm.

In this class the kids will learn: 

  • The role the queen bee, drones and worker bees play in the hive
  • The importance of bees and the chance to observe them at work 
  • How to extract honeycomb from the frame to make honey

The Kids will take home:

  • A jar of your collected honey from the workshop
  • A Maya Sunny Honey show bag

Please Note

  • There is no experience necessary!
  • Classes start at 9:00am, 10:30am, 11:45am - please select your time slot when purchasing tickets.
  • Classes run for approximately 45 minutes and will be held in the Patio - next to our kids area and animal farm.
  • Suitable for children between 6 to 13 years old, however you are the best judge to decide if this activity is appropriate for your child. Children under 6 are welcome, however will require supervision by a responsible guardian.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes before class and check in with our team in the Patio. Be aware that traffic can be challenging and parking is limited in the area, click here for more information.
  • This is not a drop off service. All parents are required to stay within The Grounds of Alexandria at all times while their child is in the class.
  • Ticket numbers are limited - be sure to get yours before the event sells out to avoid disappointment.
