Haus of Blackstar

Founded in 2007, Sani Ray Townsand, Craig Greene (Brown Shuga), Shaun Edwards (Blackbooty Supream). Haus of BlackSTAR is a First Australians community house, one of stature, honour and loyalty. In the house race, age, gender and religion are over looked. Our premise is One Family, One Love. We formed out of need to develop a safe platform for our gay, lesbian, transgender and Sistergirl community in Sydney. Our main focus was to provide a positive platform that showcased our beautiful cultural creativity in Sydney and be seen by the wider community as present and represented. We worked in collaboration with the Aids Council of NSW ACON, Boomalli, the National Centre for Excellence and Sydney Mardi Gras to improve life, and we had so much fun along the way. Some of us are no longer with us but we believe they have left their mark and will for ever hold a place in our hearts. We carry on this journey back home in our homelands of Far North Queensland and we are so excited to continue in 2019. Werq, Slay, Unite, Love.
