How to take responsibility for the impact of your organisation - Sydney

Event description

WHAT'S THIS WORKSHOP ABOUT?

There is a huge push around the world for business and government leaders to take more responsibility for how their organisation operates, the things they put out into the world, and the impact that has on people and our planet.

We believe that good leadership is about accepting that responsibility and considering with equal attention the environmental, human, and economic impact of everything we do. We use our own company as a live prototype to test this hypothesis.

Because our mission is broad — we exist to improve the everyday life of people as they interact with the world around them — we designed some practical tools and activities to help connect our everyday decisions and behaviours to the aspirational outcomes we want to see.

We’ll share these tools and our experiences with you.

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is for anyone — from board members to frontline staff — who is looking for practical ways to influence how their organisation operates and the impact that has on the world around us.

It is particularly useful for people who are working on their organisation’s response to climate change, sustainability journey, people and culture strategy, staff and community engagement, and Reconciliation Action Plan.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

The tools we’ll give you take inspiration from many sources, including Conscious CapitalismUN Sustainable Development GoalsDonut EconomicsBCorpBusiness Roundtable (US), and Alliance for Corporate Transparency (EU).

These tools will help you to:

  • Make a stronger connection between the impact you want to have and your everyday behaviours (personally and through your organisation)
  • Encourage responsible business practices
  • Make decisions that balance short-term financial targets with longer-term social and environmental outcomes
  • Take an inclusive, co-design approach to everything you do.
