Guest Speaker: Sarah Withell, Head of Health, Safety and Environment at BHP / Exceptional Woman in NSW Mining 2019

Topic: Celebrating International Women's Day

Sarah Withell has built a distinguished career in the mining industry since starting out as an environmental scientist working in a remote ‘fly in fly out’ operation in the Gulf of Carpentaria.

Sarah is first female head of Health, Safety and Environment for BHP and the first female member of the NSW Energy Coal Asset Leadership Team. She won the Exceptional Woman in NSW Mining in 2019 and also chairs the Upper Hunter Mining Dialogue.

Sarah will speak about the influence of role models in her career progression, and how the industry can leverage such role models to promote gender equality.
