Inclusive Sports 'Come n Try' Day
Event description
Are you currently living with or ever wondered what it’s like to live with a disability?
Come and join us as we take to the courts for a day of tennis and basketball, with a twist!
If you are not disabled, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to step into the shoes of someone who is, and experience the challenges that they face.
We will be providing wheelchairs, blindfolds and earmuffs so that you can experience first hand what it's like to move through the world (or tennis/basketball court) in a new way.
If you are living with a disability, then come and join in for a fun -filled day of celebrating your unique challenges in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The event is open for people of all ages, from young children to elders and anyone in between. There is no age limit to having a bit of fun!
There will be food stalls, a raffle with great prizes as well as a silent auction, with all proceeds going towards Youth Off The Streets - an amazing organisation committed to helping disconnected young people find greatness within.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
11am - 11.30am courts open for people to try wheelchair tennis/basketball
11.30am - 12pm deaf tennis exhibition/lesson
12pm - 12.30pm talk from Adam & Rani
12.30pm - 1pm run and roll tennis exhibition
1pm - 2pm all courts open
So, who is the Age of Ability?
The Age of Ability is the brainchild of Rani Vincent and Adam Kellerman, two passionate individuals who have each faced tremendous physical challenges. Their vision is to use collective experience to transform the way people perceive their limitations and inspire them to live an extraordinary life.
This event is proudly supported by City Community Tennis, Tennis NSW, Wheelchair Sports NSW, Clubs NSW and together we are supporting Youth Off The Streets.
