Event description

We are back and excited to announce our first event for 2020.
In the host seat we welcome Phil Morle, partner at Main Sequence Ventures who will be grilling one of their recent investments, Nick Hazell, founder of v2food!

Officially launched in October 2019, v2food founder Nick, Phil and Jack Cowin of Hungry Jacks wanted to answer the question; How can we feed 10 billion people with the resources of one earth? To answer this question Nick and the team set about using 100 years of CSIRO science to build a platform that creates 'meat' from plants.

Phil and Main Sequence Ventures - the CSIRO's venture capital fund invest in deep founders who are building unimaginable new companies with a strong connection to research. v2food's mission to help transform inspiring Australian research into epic global companies, and Phil's ambition to invest in at least one new company that can undo climate change damage collided.

In October 2019 v2food announced a $35 million Series A round led by Main Sequence Horizon Ventures.

On the investment Phil told Dynamic Business "v2food is an outstanding example of an innovative startup committed to solving a global problem. The team has demonstrated what can be achieved when science and industry collaborate”

MSEQ and v2foods are on a mission to bring Australia into the global plant-based protein race. With big plans for v2food what does the second version of food look like?

As always we will have a Q&A with the audience to ask what’s on your minds.

Don’t miss out on hearing this great conversation between Phil and Nick, and meet others in the IB community. We hope to see you there!
