This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Haymarket HQ Inspiration Series is a forum for entrepreneurial leaders to impart their stories. The Q&A format will explore how these inspirational entrepreneurs ‘created’ success, the importance of leadership, innovation and execution and their personal journeys.

Professor Charlie Teo is world renowned neurosurgeon. From humble beginnings in Sydney, he has gone on to become a global pioneer in minimally invasive techniques in neurosurgery and brain cancer research. Named Most Trusted Person in Australia for the last six consecutive years, Charlie was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2011, was invited to give the Australia Day Address to the Nation in 2012 and became the first non-politician Australian to address the US Congress in 2013.

Charlie has dedicated his life to helping and teaching others. Not only a surgeon, but Charlie also has a strong passion for teaching others and has established fellowship programs and mentored neurosurgeons in many leading universities including Johns Hopkins, Stanford, and Harvard Universities. Through charities, he has raised over $20 million in funding, and through his work, he has given countless families the gift of hope and life.

Ticket proceeds will go to the Charlie Teo Foundation. Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease but advancements in research have been slow in comparison to other cancers. Founded by Professor Teo himself, the Charlie Teo Foundation aims to channel funding and resources into the very frontline of brain cancer research.
