Suitable for international first year students in the first six months of their candidature.

This Module is part of the program A Positive Start for International HDR students, which aims to support international HDR students in their first six months at UTS.

There are four weekly workshops to develop your understanding and practical skills in searching and selecting literature, reading and synthesising literature, and writing for research.

W1: Searching and selecting literature

· Purpose in selecting literature

· Types of academic literature

· Using database and online information services to search literature

Is there a sign in sheet on arrival?

Yes. Please ensure that you sign the registration sheet on arrival.

What if I can no longer attend, do I need to cancel?

Yes. Please contact the Researcher Development team at grs_rd@uts.edu.au for workshop cancellation.

If you fail to cancel your registration and are absent three or more times in a session, you will be suspended from the program for 1 year. You will be notified by email prior to your suspension being applied.


How will I know the location for this event if it is not confirmed yet?

You will be sent a reminder email approximately one week prior to the workshop. This will include the workshops location, date, time and anything you may need to know prior to the workshop.
