Event description

As part of her Australian national tour and headlining the Kundalini Yoga Festival Australasia 2019, Bending Rules in collaboration with Sonic Heart is honoured to announce Jai-Jagdeesh live in concert!

ABOUT JAI-JAGDEESH.
Jai-Jagdeesh's journey as a singer began in a temple in India nearly 25 years ago. Spending her formative years in Northern India - and travelling as a musical representative for Yogi Bhajan's foreign education program - set the foundation for a deep devotion to the sacred texts of the Kundalini yoga tradition & the Sikh faith. Her innovative spirit has walked many artistic paths: actress, classical Indian dancer, photographer, and writer. With music at the forefront, she is effervescently expressive.

Jai-Jagdeesh’s unique combination of sacred sounds and soulful authenticity continues to connect deeply with audiences as she records, tours, plays, festivals and gives vocal workshops around the world. Her debut album, 'I Am Thine' - a combination of sacred mantras and powerful English lyrics - was released in the summer of 2011 to record sales and great acclaim. Her second full-length studio album, 'Of Heaven & Earth', climbed to #6 on Billboard's New Age Music chart within the first few weeks of its release. Her two Kundalini mantra meditation CDs, 'The Expansive Spirit' (2012) and 'Miracles Abound' (2015) are designed as practices, and are full of deep, transformative resonance.

THE CONCERT.
The evening of October 15 will mark Jai's-Jagdeesh's live concert, which will provide a time and place for you to take part in your community by sharing in Jai's empowering and heart opening offerings. Doors open at 6:30pm for you to connect with friends - old and ones you haven't met yet - over a vegan Chai and yummy Dahl ahead of the musical performance at 7:45pm sharp (food service ceases at 7:20pm).

THE VENUE.
Centrally located at the the not-for-profit Bendat Parent & Community Centre (Telethon Hearing and Speech Centre) on Lake Monger in Leederville, our highest priority is to bring you something very special, so we ask you to bring comfy stuff (pillows, blankets etc) so you can get nice and cozy.

Jai-Jagdeesh has emerged as one of America's leading chant artists in the Kundalini Yoga tradition, with several albums released, millions of hits on Youtube, and hundreds of performances at festivals and concerts around the world. Her voice is truly divine, her music is empowering and we greatly look forward to you all coming together to celebrate authenticity, vulnerability, and the joy of life with Jai-Jagdeesh.

** As today's young are tomorrows leaders and custodians of this planet, part proceeds from this event go to the Nutrition for School Children program.

One child in every Australian classroom goes to bed or school hungry every day. Children who go to school hungry have difficulties concentrating in class, experience learning difficulties and are more likely to miss school frequently. No child can be expected to learn on an empty stomach. In collaboration with Ozharvest, this event aids the providing of meals to disadvantaged students around Australia.
