We’re bringing a taste of New Orleans into The Garden this Winter - so pull up a chair, grab a Mint Julep and get ready to experience an eclectic blend of sounds...
The Grounds is excited to present our first ever Jazz Music Night, hosted in our fairy lit Garden this winter. With the lights dimmed low and the Mint Juleps flowing, the night will feature a cultured sound developed since 1920’s America.
If the music’s not enough - and we’d be shocked if it wasn’t - The Garden Bar will be open for drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), whilst the BBQ will be providing a select menu by Executive Head Chef Paul McGrath.
The Garden is a family-friendly space and all children and 4 legged friends are welcome. With heaters throughout, there’s no need to worry about the cold either. Please note seating is limited. If this is needed, we recommend arriving early.

About the Artists:
Linda Taylor
Linda Taylor is an engaging new world jazz musician. Having played the local Sydney scene for many years, Linda has marked a new and creative space to share with her audiences. Playing regularly at Bar No. 5 and swinging late night sets at Palmer and Co, Lazy Bones and the Manly Jazz Festival, her music travels through jazz standards, bossa nova samba and groove, to create a new palette of contemporary jazz vocals. Backed by a brilliant new band Linda will light up The Grounds with sonic colour.
Virna Sansone
Virna Sanzone is one of Australia's most captivating singers. Deeply soulful, yet with the ability to sail effortlessly through the most intricate jazz melodies, her passionate delivery and understated approach have seen her compared to vocal masters from Roberta Flack and KD Lang to Shirley Horne.
Born in Sydney, to a Sicilian father and an Armenian / Chaldean mother, Virna grew up in a multi-lingual household, that was as diverse musically as it was culturally. Studying music from an early age, Virna went on to be one of the few singers ever to be accepted into the prestigious jazz course at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Here she studied with Australian greats including Mike Nock, Judy Bailey and Kerrie Biddell, forging many strong and enduring musical relationships, graduating in 1998 with a Diploma in Jazz Studies. Since that time she has worked consistently, both in Australia and overseas, rapidly winning the admiration and respect of audiences and contemporaries alike.
Please Note:
- One ticket provides entrance to The Grounds Garden and wonderful Jazz music.
- Kids 10 years and under are free.
- The Garden will be open from 6:00pm, with music kicking off from 6:30pm
- Seating and tables are limited - we recommend arriving early to secure seats and tables if you require them.
- Food and drinks must be purchased on the night.
- Alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages will be available from the Garden Bar, with a select menu on offer at the BBQ.
- Proof of ID will be required to purchase alcoholic beverages.
- Tickets are limited, so be sure to get yours before the event sells out!
