The Life Beneath Us and Within with Sandor Katz & Palisa Anderson

Event description

Microbial bugs live everywhere! In, on and under us. In our food and water. And we rely on them to thrive. Agriculture doesn't make sense without preservation, the soil we grow from relies on a rich and diverse microbial life as do our bodies. Join Sandor, Palisa and her own soil expert Jack Waterman for a tour of Boonluck farm. From enriched, fermented compost tea, a quick glean for vegetables from the farm for our kefir and kraut, and then back up to the shed to ferment them with Sandor.  Sharon and Will Studd will make a tropical kimchi - featuring banana and Sandor will make a brined black corn.  You'll get to second ferment your own water kefir with finds from the farm. Finally - hang out and enjoy lunch by Palisa - including versions of our ferments and water kefirs.

Take home water kefir grains and recipe, recipes for the kimchi and brined corn, and your own bottle of water kefir flavoured at the farm to further ferment at home.
