Use your inventiveness and creativity to address real needs and thoughtfully design technologies for the future.

Explore technical inventions of the past, optimise present-day technology and design sustainable solutions for the future. Appreciate the relevance of technology education for children’s understanding of the world and encourage their creativity and innovative spirit.

This STEM learning opportunity will help you:

  • learn how early technology education can foster children’s technical competence
  • embrace ethical decision-making as an important part of technology education
  • engage in technology education through design, production, investigation and analysis
  • recognise the importance of communication, evaluation and assessment for technical learning
  • benefit from the exchange with like-minded educators and reflect on your current practice
  • feel confident in unlocking the wonders of STEM.

You will also receive comprehensive materials with lots of STEM ideas and information about inquiry-based practices.

Topic learning objectives

  • Supporting the development of sustainable and ethical decision-making
  • Fostering children’s technical competence
  • Awareness of age-appropriate learning opportunities in the area of design and technologies

Good to know: This workshop provides educators and teachers with a variety of tools and educational concepts to meet a range of requirements of the NQF and the EYLF.

Parking: Parking is available within the vicinity of the venue

Further information: Wear clothing suitable for hands-on activities and experiments.

Cost: $200 per participant. Ticket cost includes morning and afternoon tea. Please BYO lunch.

Who? This workshop is suitable for all educators and teachers and prior STEM knowledge is not required.
