Event description

In this talk, Merja delves into what it takes to create “the perfect idea” and how to communicate it to make it stand out.

There are 6 questions that have to be asked when bringing an idea to light:

  • Is this idea factually accurate? Do I have the data to back this up?
  • Is this idea effective? Does it work and can it be replicated by others?
  • Am I willing to put my name on this idea? Is this idea authentic to me?
  • Am I able to communicate this idea and the benefits of it in a way that is understandable to my audience?
  • Is the idea relevant in today’s economy?
  • Is this idea an idea that has been trending up or is the idea trending down?

Carl Jung, the famous Swiss Psychoanalyst outlined 2 directions of activity: inward facing and outward facing. Inward facing activity strengthens the subjective experience of the individual. This subjective experience is where thoughts and ideas percolate. The challenge is that purely inward facing activities do not see the light of day. This is why the inward facing activities have to be balanced out with outward facing activities. Outward facing activities bring thoughts and ideas to light and match them with the suitable audience. Without practiced and effective outward facing activities, our thoughts don’t see the light of day.

    Key Takeaways

    • Identify the vital inward facing activities of idea generating
    • Identify the outward facing activities that breath life to your idea in the outside world
    • What NOT to do with your ideas
    • How to make your ideas stand out
