Event description

Join in on the fun of making playdough with your child. This sensory activity can be easily repeated at home, with items often already in your pantry. Making playdough helps your child learn mathematical concepts such as counting and measuring, as well as practising fine motor skills like mixing and cutting out shapes, learning about colours and above all, having fun through play.

Fun sensory items can be added to this activity like peppermint oil for smell, rice for texture and glitter for sparkle! Have fun with making playdough cakes using rolling pins, cutters, patty pans and matchsticks. Other items can be added to expand the learning experience as well, like zoo animals, bugs or dinosaurs.

A Playgroup WA child development officer will lead this play activity and have a chat about how simple activities are great learning opportunities which can be done at home or at your local playgroup. A playdough recipe sheet will be provided, as well as weblinks to find more information on play ideas and playgroups.

Best suited for children aged 2 – 5 years.

Bookings essential, required for children only.
