Braneshop - Introduction to Explainable AI: Opening the black box!

With the growing prevalence of AI systems within the business, we need to make sure we can understand and control their decisions. 

How can we build confidence and trust in AI? How can we understand a decision made by AI? Given a predicted outcome, how can we modify the input to get a different outcome? (i.e. What would we need to change to get a better insurance rating, or what activities in our business do we need to change to influence certain metrics?)

In the session, we will learn what XAI is, how it's being applied across industries, where the research is, and how you can begin to adopt this into your businesses.

• What do I need to do to adopt it?
• What alternatives exist in order to understand the decision-making of AI models?

Our speakers

Noon van der Silk is the founder of Braneshop and lead trainer. Noon has 18+ years of experience in various forms of software engineering, application development, and the design and implementation of machine learning + AI systems. Within AI he has a special interest in the field of computer vision and interactive art. Noon is particularly passionate about empowering people through skill development. Find more about him.

Laura is a multi-disciplinary designer researching technology ethics and building tools to promote fair machine learning. She's passionate about feminism, digital rights and designing for privacy.
