Maria Joyce - Women in Mining and Resources Queensland Chair 
Maria brings more than 15 years’ experience in leadership, operational, technical and business improvement roles across the mining industry. Her experience in a multitude of organisations, projects and working environments, has enabled her to be highly adaptable, creative and nimble. Maria is a strong believer in creating an environment that builds team capability and trust, while fostering collaboration.

Adam Frankish – Manager Geology, Batchfire Resources
Adam Frankish is a Geologist with 15 years’ industry experience. He is a competent person for the estimation and reporting of JORC compliant Resources. He is also a Chartered Professional (Geology) and a Site Senior Executive for coal mine operations.Adam was the Geological lead for the acquisition and successful turnaround of two coal mines in the USA. He then joined a small team that acquired the Callide Coal Mine from Anglo American in 2016.Adam’s current role Manager – Geology for Batchfire Resources, operate the Callide Mine, since acquisition Batchfire has increased Callide’s production from 6.5Mt to 11.5Mt in two years.

Simon Cohn - Director Ortus Mining and Non-Executive Director MEC Mining
In his advisory roles as a board director, Simon draws on a wealth of leadership, professionalism, passion and knowledge built up over 20 years in the natural resources sector. Simon is passionate about engaged, inspired leadership and in his board and advisory roles he coaches and mentors senior leadership teams. He strongly believes in building a unified team whose members are empowered to act autonomously while sharing a common goal and prioritises robust partnerships with clients, other businesses and employees.
