Modern Slavery Act Workshop
Date and Time
This is for you if you want your business or office to be recognised by stakeholders as an ethical business that takes a stand against slavery and exploitation of people.
This is also for you if you want to sell products or services to large corporates who are looking for an ethical supply chain. (especially now that they must do that legally!)
This is also for you if you want to be on the National Public register that lists all the companies who have submitted a Modern Slavery Statement.
We have been in this space since our doors opened. We have been checking our supply chain for risk of slavery; all our suppliers sign a Code of Conduct for Human Rights and a Supplier Transparency Agreement. This is not new for us. There are many 'experts' out there who have never actually managed an ethical business, and there are many who are trying to make money out of this new act.
The profits from this training will support survivors of slavery in our Survivor School, and by doing this workshop with us you are demonstrating to the government and to stakeholders that you are serious about ending slavery. This is not about a law, but about peoples lives! We can impact global slavery.
This training is PRACTICAL. It is not a talkfest but actual practitioners helping to get started on the day and giving you tools to do more in your own time.

The Freedom Hub
The Freedom Hub exists to help people who have experienced human trafficking and slavery within Australia. Our survivors are predominantly women however this crime is also experienced by men. Sadly some survivors are children. At the Freedom Hub we run a Survivor School for rehabilitation, training and education. Through one-to-one mentoring, encouragement and supported learning, survivors can learn faster, feel valued, and re-establish trust. We collaborate with business partners, including offering employment opportunities for survivors, to help end this crime. We run a Cafe and Event Hire Venue to help raise funds and a slave free retail range for shopping. Our stunning warehouse venue is extremely popular for ethical weddings, engagements and parties. All profits support the Survivor School and cause. The Freedom Hub has generous benefactors, however ongoing additional funding is always vital to combat this crime.
