Event description

NECTAR would like to acknowledge that this event, and all of the work that we undertake as a collective, happens on stolen land. We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation and their Elders past, present, and emerging.

We are so thrilled to be hosting Melbourne’s party safe initiative Sesh Ed, and activist group Sniff Of for our fifth NECTAR workshop. This workshop will be focusing on how to be party safe, both as an event attendee and as a party promoter.

Topics covered on the night will include:

+ Legal stuff: Knowing your rights when interacting with the police
+ Tips for event organisers to help prevent drug-related harm

+ Recognising the signs of adverse drug reactions and how to respond

+ The interaction between MDMA and commonly prescribed anti-depressants

+ How to talk to your friends about their drug use

+ plenty more

💭 Sniff Off

Sniff Off is a joint collaboration between Greens MP David Shoebridge and the NSW Young Greens. It began as a campaign against the drug dog program introduced in NSW by Bob Carr's Labor government and perpetuated by successive Liberal governments. In the five years since its inception, Sniff Off has grown into a broad grassroots movement fighting for drug law reform, police accountability and civil liberties.
