Cocktail reception: NETFA Campaign Launch to end FGM/C in Australia

Multicultural Centre for Women's Health warmly invites you to attend an evening of discussion, entertainment and networking at the NETFA campaign launch to end Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) in Australia.
The NETFA campaign aims to raise awareness that All women and girls who experience or are at risk of FGM/C have the right to high quality, safe, and person-centred health care.
It targets health professionals, specifically General Practitioners, maternal and child health nurses, midwives/obstetricians/gynaecologists in promoting culturally sensitive and optimal care for migrant women and girls affected by FGM/C.
Keynote speaker
Dr Jasmine Abdulcadir MD PD FECSM, an obstetrician/gynaecologist and founder of the outpatient clinic for women and girls living with FGM/C, Geneva University Hospitals, will be speaking at this launch on international best practice and care for migrant women and girls affected by FGM/C.
Fatu Silah, a young migrant woman affected by FGM/C will also share her experiences of accessing health care services in Australia.
Advancing the Evidence Conference
This event is part of Advancing the Evidence, a national conference on migrant women's sexual and reproductive health on 27-28 February 2020. The conference will bring together Australia's key health specialists and researchers for two full days of talks and panels. About NETFA
NETFA (National Education Toolkit for Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting Awareness) is a project funded by the Federal Government to work with health professionals to better support women who have experienced FGM/C and to raise awareness on FGM/C health risks in the community.
NETFA is managed by the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health – a community-based organisation led by and for women from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
