We're Officially Opening the Bondi to Manly Walk!
The event will take place at 11.00am on Sunday December 8, 2019, on the waters edge under the bridge at Milsons Point, North Sydney.
Please note this is a public space with no allocated seating or catering.
The Bondi to Manly Walk is an iconic 80km walk around Sydney Harbour. It starts at Bondi Beach, passes around South Head, over the Harbour Bridge, along to North Head Sanctuary and finishes at Manly Beach.
The Walk is rich in Indigenous heritage and includes four iconic Australian landmarks, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House and our two most famous surf beaches - Bondi Beach and Manly Beach. The Walk will provide an unsurpassed experience to explore Sydney and discover our beautiful natural harbour, incredible cultural gems and rich heritage.
The Bondi to Manly Walk is the product of an unprecedented collaboration between the La Perouse and Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Councils; all six Councils along the Walk (City of Sydney, Mosman Council, North Sydney Council, Northern Beaches Council, Waverley Council and Woollahra Council); seven state agencies (Place Management New South Wales, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services, Roads and Maritime Services, Port Authority of NSW, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney Opera House and Taronga Zoo) and at the Federal level, the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust.
We also have many community organisations supporting the establishment of the Walk including Destination NSW, the Walking Volunteers, Principals Design Agency, Committee for Sydney, Greater Sydney Commission and the Business Council of Australia.
All our partners confidently believe will soon become known as one of the world’s great walks.
