OzSnax Awards
Event description
The OzSnax awards is a short film weekend event held in Melbourne, run by the not-for-profit Australian Film Future Foundation Ltd in partnership with Ozflix to showcase short Australian content and provide networking opportunities for emerging content creators.
FRIDAY 11TH OCTOBER
Networking drinks
7:00pm - 10:00pm
This event is free to all ticket holders. Bring along a copy of any ticket you have purchased for the weekend event, buy drinks at the bar and network with other festival attendees.
SATURDAY 12TH OCTOBER
Alternative film financing workshop
10:30am - 12:00pm
Ozflix CEO Ron Brown will discuss ways to finance screen projects outside of screen agency support.
Building community: Melbourne WebFest panel
1:30pm - 2:30pm
Melbourne WebFest festival director Alex Hipwell will lead a discussion with established web series creators about building community and audience around your online projects.
Screenwriting pathways panel
2:45pm - 3:45pm
This panel is a discussion with prominent and emerging screenwriters about their experience with navigating the industry as a writer and how they got to where they are now. Guests include Stephen Kearney (Oddball), Grace Feng Fang Juan (Girl, Interpreted) and Seph McKenna (ex ScreenWest CEO).

Awards ceremony
1:30pm - 3:30pm
The awards ceremony is an afternoon of celebration for all winning and nominated works. Come along to find out who'll win the craft and best film awards! This is a great opportunity to meet all of the filmmakers involved in the festival.
