Event description

Design a Business: An Online Workshop

There are a lot of moving parts in a startup, and it’s easy to feel like you’re missing something. The Lean Canvas is a framework to flesh out your ideas and define your business model. This helps you build a great foundation for your startup to thrive.

In two hours, you’ll learn about the nine key aspects of the Lean Canvas, practise adapting existing business models, and experience what it means to pivot and change a startup idea.

“In a startup, no business plan survives first contact with customers” - Steve Blank, Author of “The Startup Owners’ Manual”

FAQ

Why are the workshops online?

We consider our responsibility to support public health efforts to limit the risk of COVID-19 transmission. During this time we know members of our community may be stuck overseas or making the decision to self-isolate.

Here at INCUBATE we want to continue to support and deliver high value to our community, and will do so by providing as many of our programs as we can online.

How the workshop will be conducted:

The workshop will not be conducted from the INCUBATE Hub, but be streamed by the facilitator from an alternative location by videoconferencing.

Before the workshop, you will receive a link to the workshop. This will not require any further account set up on your part, you will be able to simply click and enter the workshop. You will then be able to participate from wherever your location may be and gain further links to resources and activities from the workshop.

We recommend using a laptop or desktop PC, with a webcam and a headset, to access the workshop. Alternatively, you can access the Zoom call from your phone. We are in the process of investigating options which might support students who don’t have access to reliable internet.

I’m concerned about COVID-19:

Up-to-date advice is available from University of Sydney and NSW Health. You may also call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080.
